Remote inspections

Overview​

The Remote inspections page allows installers to run and review automated health and status inspections for a single panel.

Use this page to:

  • Verify panel connectivity and operation
  • Detect active faults and communication issues
  • Review recent inspection results
  • Confirm whether zones and modules operate as expected
  • Rerun inspections when troubleshooting panel issues

Inspection results are grouped into the following categories:

  • Failed tests
  • Not completed tests
  • Passed tests

Each inspection provides detailed information about the panel condition at the time the inspection was performed.

Before you begin​

Preconditions​

  • The panel must be registered in the system.
  • The panel must be online or recently connected.
  • Communication channels such as broadband or GPRS must be configured correctly.

  • Broadband or GPRS connectivity

Important limitations​

6Active faultsDisplays faults currently active on the panel. A green check indicates no active faults.Use to confirm the panel has no ongoing fault conditions.
7Bypassed / in-test zonesLists zones currently bypassed or set to test mode. A green check indicates no zones are bypassed or in test.Use to confirm all zones are active and not excluded from monitoring.
8Broadband testShows the status of the broadband communication test. A green check indicates the broadband connection is functioning correctly.Use to verify the panel's broadband connectivity.
9Soak zonesLists zones currently in a soak test period. A green check indicates no zones are in soak testing.Use to check whether any zones are undergoing a soak test before being placed in service.

How to use this page​

Run a remote inspection​

Goal:

  • Start a new inspection for a panel.

Steps:

  1. Log in to remote mode.
  2. Tap on panel what you need and enter installer code.
  3. Tap the Remote inspections tab.
  4. Tap the Run inspection button.
  5. In the confirmation dialog, select OK.
  6. Wait for the inspection process to complete.

Expected result:

  • The system runs a new inspection.
  • Inspection results appear in categorized sections.
  • The inspection timestamp updates.

Inspection duration varies depending on network connectivity and panel response time.

Troubleshooting​

Remote inspection does not start​

Possible causes

  • The panel is offline.
  • Network communication is unavailable.

What to do

  1. Verify panel connectivity.
  2. Confirm that the panel is online.
  3. Retry the inspection.

GPRS test fails​

Possible causes

  • Incorrect keepalive configuration
  • GPRS communication outage

What to do

  1. Verify that the GPRS module is installed.
  2. Check whether keepalive messages are enabled.
  3. Confirm network connectivity.
  4. Rerun the inspection.

Frequently used zones test fails​

Possible causes

  • Zones were inactive longer than expected.
  • Incorrect inactivity threshold configuration.
  • Sensor activity was not reported.

What to do

  1. Verify sensor activity.
  2. Check zone configuration.
  3. Repeat the inspection after confirming activity.
