Before you begin

Preconditions

  • The user is signed in to ConnectAlarm.
  • The selected security panel is available.
  • The mobile device is protected with a device passcode, PIN, password, biometric authentication, or another supported device lock method.
  • The mobile device has network connectivity.

  • Panel users and PINs are configured according to site policy.

Dependencies

  • Face ID and biometric login depend on mobile device support and operating system settings.

  • Panel user security depends on valid PIN configuration and user permissions.
  • Account activity review depends on available Events and Automation Log history.

Limitations

warning
  1. ConnectAlarm account protection depends on both app settings and mobile device security settings.
  2. Enabling fast login can reduce sign-in friction, but users should consider whether the mobile device is shared or unmanaged.
  3. Biometric login does not replace the need to protect the mobile device itself.
  4. Push notifications may expose sensitive information on the lock screen if password isn't set on the mobile device and content is shown.
  5. Approving remote installer access allow remote service actions on the security system.
  6. Removing or changing panel users, PINs, panic mode, or automation rules can affect site security.
