Panel list interface layout

Overview

The Panel list screen shows the alarm panels that are added to the ConnectAlarm user. Use this screem to select the panel you want to monitor or control, add a new panel or remove existing one.

Use the Panel list screen when you need to:

  • Open a connected panel.
  • Add a panel to the app.
  • Switch between panels.
  • Confirm which panel is associated with the current account.
  • Start the connection flow after installing the app.
  • Remove panel from the current account.
  • Edit panel name.

The Panel list screen helps prevent users from opening or controlling the wrong security system, especially when one mobile device is used with more than one panel.

Before you begin

Required permissions

You need a valid ConnectAlarm account and a valid user code for each panel you want to access. ConnectAlarm access is password-protected and permissions-based, and available actions depend on the permissions configured for your user and panel.

Preconditions

Before you use the Panel list screen, confirm that:

  • The ConnectAlarm app is installed on your mobile device.
  • You know the server or host address for your ConnectAlarm service.
  • You have the panel ID or panel serial number from your installer, dealer, or monitoring station.
  • You have your own panel user code.
  • The panel and communicator are configured to PowerManage.
  • The mobile device has internet access.
  • The alarm panel has an available Wi-Fi, Ethernet or cellular connection, depending on the installed communicator configuration.

Limitations

warning
  1. The Panel list shows only panels that have been added to the app and are available to the signed-in user.
  2. If the wrong code is entered three times during the logging in to the panel control interface, access may be locked for 5 minutes.

How to use this page

Open a panel from the list

  1. Open the ConnectAlarm application.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap icon-text for the panel you want to open.
  4. Enter a valid user code.

Rename a panel alias

  1. Open the ConnectAlarm application.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap icon-text.
  4. Tap icon-text for the panel you want to rename.
  5. Enter the new panel name.
  6. Tap OK to save changes.
  7. Tap Done to close the edit Panel list function.

Pin a panel to the top of Panel list

  1. Open the ConnectAlarm application.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap icon-text.
  4. Tap icon-text for the panel you want to pin.
  5. Tap Done to close edit Panel list function.

Remove a panel from the app

  1. Open the ConnectAlarm application.
  2. Sign in to your account.
  3. Tap icon-text.
  4. Tap icon-text for the panel you want to remove.
  5. Enter the ConnectAlarm user password.
  6. Tap Remove to complete the action.
  7. Tap Done to close the edit Panel list function.

Tips

tip
  1. Use clear panel aliase s, such as Home, Office, or Warehouse, so users can select the correct system.
  2. Do not share user codes in screenshots, support chats, or documentation.
  3. Keep the host address, panel ID, and user code in a secure location approved by your organization.
  4. Confirm the selected panel before arming or disarming.
  5. If several panels are configured, pin the most common used to easy find and access them.

Troubleshooting

  1. You are signed in with a different account

  2. The code was changed at the panel

  1. Re-enter the code carefully
  2. Confirm that you are adding or opening the correct panel
  3. Wait 5 minutes if three incorrect attempts were made
  4. Contact your installer or administrator if the code still fails
A panel is shown but does not open
  1. The mobile device has limited network connectivity
  2. Interactive is disabled for that panel in PowerManage
  1. Check mobile data or Wi-Fi connectivity
  2. Contact your dealer, installer or service provider if the issue continues
