Password recovery

Overview​

The Forgot password? option allows users to recover access to their PowerManage account by creating a new password. Use this workflow when a user forgets their password, cannot sign in, or needs to replace an expired or compromised password.

Use this page when you need to:

  • Reset a forgotten password.
  • Recover account access after failed sign-in attempts.
  • Update account credentials after account recovery verification.

After you reset the password, you can sign in by using the new credentials.

Before you begin​

Preconditions​

Before resetting a password, make sure you have:

  • Access to the registered email address.

Dependencies​

Password reset requires:

  • An existing PowerManage account.
  • Email delivery functionality.

Limitations​

  1. Verification codes may expire after a limited time.
  2. Multiple failed verification attempts may temporarily block the reset process.
  3. Password policy requirements must be satisfied before saving the new password.

How to use this page​

Reset a forgotten password​

  1. Open the PowerManage web page.
  2. Select Forgot password? on the Log in screen.
  3. Enter the registered email address.
  4. Select Recover.
  5. Open the verification email.
  6. Enter the received verification code.
  7. Enter a new password.
  8. Confirm the new password.
  9. Select Complete.

  1. Use a strong password that is unique to PowerManage.
  2. Avoid reusing passwords from other services.
  3. Complete the reset process promptly to avoid code expiration.
  4. Check spam or junk folders if reset emails are delayed.
  5. Store updated credentials securely.

Troubleshooting​

Verification code is invalid​

Possible causes

  • Timeout exceeded.
  • Entered code is incorrect.

What to do

  1. Verify that you copied the code correctly.
  2. Check that the code has not expired.
  3. Request a new code and try again.

Recovery email not received​

Possible causes

  • Email delivery delay.
  • Email filtered as spam.

What to do

  1. Check the spam or junk folder in your email client.
  2. Resend the recovery code.
  3. Contact your dealer or installer to check the issue from the PowerManage side.

Password does not meet requirements​

Possible causes

  • Password does not meet policy requirements.

What to do

  1. Add required characters to the password.
  2. Increase the password length if needed.
  3. Ensure the password includes letters, numbers, and special characters as required.
  4. Try setting the password again.

Password confirmation does not match​

Possible causes

  • Password and confirmation do not match.
  • Typing error when entering passwords.

What to do

  1. Re-enter the password in the first field.
  2. Re-enter the same password in the confirmation field.
  3. Verify that both entries match exactly.
  4. Try setting the password again.
