Overview​
Remote inspections
The Remote inspections page is used to review and manage remote inspection records for equipment.
Use this page to:
- Review inspection schedule, last run time, next scheduled time, and status.
- Open inspection actions from the actions menu.
- Send an email related to an inspection.
- Review inspection details.
- Review failed, not completed, and passed inspection result categories.
- Review fault, usage, zone, clock, and broadband result sections.
- Open the Start dropdown and schedule an inspection when the option is available.
- Set the next inspection date and repetition interval.
- Schedule remote inspections by uploading a CSV file.
This page helps operators track scheduled and completed remote inspections, identify failed inspections, start new inspections, and manage remote inspection actions for selected equipment.
Before you begin​
Required permissions​
- You must have permission to view Remote inspections.
- You must have permission to initiate remote inspections.
- You must have permission to schedule or cancel remote inspections.
Access to the Remote inspections page and remote inspection actions is controlled by role permissions.
Preconditions​
- At least one remote inspection record must exist before the list shows inspections.
- A CSV file must use the required structure before it can be used for CSV scheduling.
- An inspection record must be selected before the details panel shows inspection information.
Dependencies​
- Remote inspection records depend on available equipment and inspection history.
- Schedule actions depend on supported schedule values, selected date, repetition value, and equipment availability.
- Email actions depend on configured email delivery and available recipient data.
- CSV scheduling depends on the CSV file structure, date format, and repetition values.
- Inspection status depends on inspection execution and result processing.
- Inspection result sections depend on the selected result tab and available report data.
- The Start action depends on the selected inspection state and whether the inspection can be initiated.
Important limitations​
- Bulk actions apply to all selected inspection records. Review the selected count before applying an action.
- The Schedule button in the CSV upload dialog is disabled until a valid CSV file is selected or uploaded.
- A zero or empty repetition value in the CSV means a one-time report.
- Dates in the CSV must use the YYYY-MM-DD format.
- The schedule dialog requires a next inspection date and repetition value before a schedule can be saved.
Page layout​
Remote inspections list​
The Remote inspections list appears in the middle panel. It shows inspection records and their summary information.

Inspection details panel​
The Inspection details panel appears on the right side after selecting an inspection record.

How to use this page​
Review remote inspections​
Goal:
- Review inspection records and their status.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Review the inspection count.
- Review the Remote inspections list.
- Select an inspection record.
- Review the Inspection details panel.
Expected result:
- The selected inspection opens in the details panel.
- The list and details panel show schedule, timestamp, next scheduled time, and status information.
Search remote inspections​
Goal:
- Find inspection records by available inspection information.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select the Search Remote Inspection field.
- Enter search text.
- Review the updated inspection list.
Expected result:
- The Remote inspections list updates to show matching records when matching data is available.
Select inspections​
Goal:
- Select one or more inspections before using an action.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select the checkbox for one or more inspection records.
- Review the selected count.
- Open the actions menu if you need to apply an action.
Expected result:
- Selected inspection cards are highlighted.
- The selected count updates.
- Available actions appear in the actions menu.
Open the actions menu​
Goal:
- Review actions available for selected inspections.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select one or more inspection records.
- Select the three vertical dots menu.
- Review the available actions.
Expected result:
- The actions menu opens and shows available actions, such as Initiate inspection, Set schedule, Cancel schedule, Send email, and Review.
Initiate an inspection​
Goal:
- Start an inspection for the selected record.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- Use one of the available start options:
- Select Initiate inspection from the actions menu.
- Select Start in the details panel when available.
- In the Initiate inspection confirmation dialog, review the message.
- Select Begin now.
Expected result:
- The inspection start request is submitted.
To close the dialog without starting the inspection, select Cancel.
Monitor inspection starting state​
Goal:
- Confirm that an inspection start request is being processed.
Steps:
- Initiate an inspection.
- Review the selected inspection card.
- Review the details panel.
- Wait while the page shows Starting... and the progress indicator.
Expected result:
- The selected inspection shows Starting....
Review passed inspection results​
Goal:
- Review inspection result categories that passed.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- In the details panel, select Passed.
- Review sections such as Reported faults, Total system usage, and Active faults.
Expected result:
- Passed result sections are displayed when available.
- The details panel shows result counts and related inspection data.
Review failed inspection results​
Goal:
- Review result sections for a failed inspection.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select a failed inspection record.
- In the details panel, select Failed.
- Review sections such as Total system usage and Frequently used zones.
- Review any tables in the selected section.
Expected result:
- Failed result sections are displayed when available.
- The details panel shows relevant counts and result rows.
Review additional passed checks​
Goal:
- Review additional passed result checks for a selected inspection.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- In the details panel, select Passed.
- Scroll the details panel.
- Review sections such as Reported faults, Active faults, Bypassed / in-test zones, Check clock, and Broadband.
Expected result:
- Passed check sections are displayed when available.
- Each section shows its current result or count.
Schedule from the Start dropdown​
Goal:
- Open the schedule workflow from the selected inspection details panel.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- In the details panel, select the dropdown arrow next to Start.
- Select Schedule.
Expected result:
- The schedule workflow opens when the action is available and permitted.
Schedule a remote inspection​
Goal:
- Set the next inspection date and repetition interval for a selected remote inspection.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- In the details panel, select the dropdown arrow next to Start.
- Select Schedule.
- In the Schedule remote inspection dialog, set Next inspection.
- Select Choose repetition.
- Choose one of the available repetition options:
- Once
- 1 month
- 3 months
- 6 months
- 9 months
- Save or continue the schedule workflow when the action is available.
Expected result:
- The selected remote inspection is scheduled with the selected date and repetition interval when the action is allowed.
Schedule inspections by CSV​
Goal:
- Upload a CSV file to schedule remote inspections.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Open the CSV scheduling workflow when available.
- In the Schedule RRI by CSV dialog, prepare a CSV file with this structure:
- Panel Id
- Start date
- Repetition [0,1,3,6,9]
- Confirm that the CSV uses the YYYY-MM-DD date format.
- Drag the CSV file into the drop zone or select Browse file.
- Select Schedule when the button becomes available.
Expected result:
- Inspections are scheduled from the uploaded CSV file when the file is valid and the action is allowed.
A zero or empty repetition value means a one-time report. Confirm repetition values before scheduling inspections.
Cancel a schedule​
Goal:
- Cancel an existing inspection schedule.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record with a schedule.
- Open the actions menu.
- Select Cancel schedule.
- Follow any confirmation prompts, if shown.
Expected result:
- The selected schedule is canceled when the action is allowed.
Send an inspection email​
Goal:
- Send an email related to an inspection.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- Open the actions menu.
- Select Send email.
- Follow the email workflow, if shown.
Expected result:
- The email workflow starts when the action is allowed.
Review inspection details​
Goal:
- Review details for a selected inspection.
Steps:
- Open Equipment > Remote inspections.
- Select an inspection record.
- Use one of the available review options:
- Select the eye icon in the details panel.
- Select Review from the actions menu.
- Review the available details.
Expected result:
- Inspection review details open when the action is available and permitted.
Change the number of inspections shown per page​
Goal:
- Change how many inspections appear in the list.
Steps:
- Go to the bottom-right area of the Remote inspections list.
- Open the inspections per page selector.
- Select the number of inspections to show per page.
Expected result:
- The list updates to show the selected number of inspections per page.
- The range indicator updates.
Move between inspection pages​
Goal:
- Navigate through multiple pages of inspection records.
Steps:
- Go to the bottom-left area of the Remote inspections list.
- Select the next arrow to move forward.
- Select the previous arrow to move back.
- Review the range indicator.
Expected result:
- The Remote inspections list shows the selected page.
- The range indicator updates.
Tips​
- Review the inspection status before starting another inspection.
- Use the schedule state and next scheduled time to confirm whether a future inspection is planned.
- Use the actions menu for record-level actions such as scheduling, canceling a schedule, sending email, or reviewing details.
- Validate the date and repetition value before saving an inspection schedule.
- Validate the CSV structure and date format before uploading a schedule file.
- Use the selected count to confirm how many inspection records will be affected by a bulk action.
- Wait for the Starting... state to complete before trying to start the same inspection again.
Troubleshooting​
The Remote inspections page is not visible​
Possible causes
- Your role does not include permission to view Remote inspections.
- The Equipment section is hidden for your role.
- Your organization has restricted access to remote inspection workflows.
What to do
- Confirm that you are signed in with the correct user account.
- Contact an administrator with role management permissions.
- Ask the administrator to verify your access to Equipment and Remote inspections.
No inspection records are displayed​
Possible causes
- No remote inspection records exist.
- Search text or filters exclude all records.
- Your role does not allow access to inspection records.
What to do
- Clear the search field.
- Review active filters.
- Refresh the page.
- Contact an administrator if inspections should be visible but are missing.
Expected action is unavailable​
Possible causes
- No inspection record is selected.
- Your role does not include permission for the action.
- The selected inspection state does not support the action.
- Required configuration, such as email configuration, is missing.
What to do
- Select one or more inspection records.
- Open the actions menu again.
- Confirm that the selected inspection state supports the action.
- Contact an administrator if the action should be available but is not shown.
Start button is disabled​
Possible causes
- The inspection is already starting.
- The selected inspection state does not support starting.
- You do not have permission to initiate inspections.
- The scheduled action is currently being processed.
What to do
- Review the selected inspection status.
- If the status is Starting..., wait for processing to complete.
- Refresh the page and review the inspection state again.
- Contact an administrator if the start action should be available.
Schedule remote inspection dialog does not save​
Possible causes
- The next inspection date is missing or invalid.
- No repetition value is selected.
- The selected inspection state does not support scheduling.
- You do not have permission to schedule inspections.
What to do
- Confirm that Next inspection contains a valid date.
- Select a value in Choose repetition.
- Confirm that the selected inspection supports scheduling.
- Contact an administrator if scheduling should be available but cannot be saved.
Schedule button is disabled in the CSV dialog​
Possible causes
- No CSV file has been selected.
- The CSV file does not match the required structure.
- The CSV contains an invalid date format.
- The CSV contains unsupported repetition values.
What to do
- Confirm that the CSV includes Panel Id, Start date, and Repetition.
- Confirm that dates use YYYY-MM-DD format.
- Confirm that repetition values are supported.
- Select Browse file or drag a valid CSV into the drop zone.
- Check whether Schedule becomes available.
CSV schedule was not applied​
Possible causes
- The uploaded file is not a valid CSV file.
- One or more panel IDs are invalid.
- One or more start dates are invalid.
- You do not have permission to schedule inspections.
What to do
- Review the CSV structure.
- Confirm that each panel ID exists.
- Confirm that each start date uses the required format.
- Upload the CSV again.
- Contact an administrator if scheduling still fails.
Inspection status remains Failed​
Possible causes
- The inspection failed during execution.
- The inspection has not been run again after the failure.
- The details panel has not refreshed.
What to do
- Select the failed inspection record.
- Review the details panel.
- Start a new inspection if the action is available.
- Refresh the page after the inspection completes.
- Contact support if repeated inspections fail.
Inspection stays in Starting state​
Possible causes
- The scheduled action is still being processed.
- The inspection request is waiting for a system response.
- The details panel has not refreshed.
What to do
- Wait for the scheduled action to finish processing.
- Refresh the page.
- Check whether the status changes from Starting....
- Contact support if the status does not change after an expected processing time.
Passed results are empty or incomplete​
Possible causes
- The selected inspection has no passed result data.
- The selected tab did not finish loading.
- You do not have permission to view result details.
What to do
- Select the inspection record again.
- Select the Passed tab again.
- Scroll the details panel to review additional sections.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- Contact an administrator if result details should be visible.
Review details do not open​
Possible causes
- Review data is not available for the inspection.
- You do not have permission to review inspection details.
- The selected inspection record did not load correctly.
What to do
- Select the inspection record again.
- Select the eye icon or Review from the actions menu.
- Refresh the page and try again.
- Contact an administrator if review access should be available.
Bad request params message appears​
Possible causes
- The request contains invalid or unsupported parameters.
- The selected inspection state does not support the requested action.
- Required data for the request is missing.
What to do
- Close the toast message.
- Review the selected inspection record.
- Try the action again only if the selected state supports it.
- Refresh the page and retry.
- Contact support if the message appears repeatedly.
Schedule option is unavailable​
Possible causes
- Your role does not include permission to schedule inspections.
- The selected inspection state does not support scheduling.
- The Start dropdown did not load available options.
What to do
- Select the inspection record again.
- Open the Start dropdown.
- Confirm whether Schedule is available.
- Contact an administrator if scheduling should be available.
