Overview​

Events page Events page

The Events page shows event records received and processed.

Use this page to:

  • Review event history.
  • Monitor new events while the page is open.
  • Filter the event list by All events or Unhandled first.
  • Search for event records by available event information.
  • Review event time, panel, event description, partitions, video availability, and delivery status.

The Events page helps operators review incoming and historical events, identify delivery state, and focus on events that need handling.

Before you begin​

Required permissions​

  • You must have permission to view Events.
  • You must have permissions to view event video information.

Access to the Events page, event details, and event actions is controlled by role permissions.

Preconditions​

  • At least one event must exist before the table shows event records.
  • Event delivery information must be available before the Delivery statuses column can show progress or completion state.
  • Central station delivery data must exist before central station results are shown in expanded event details.

Dependencies​

  • Event records depend on events reported by panels, devices, and system components.
  • Delivery status depends on event processing and reporting results.
  • Video availability depends on whether video is associated with the event.
  • Partition values depend on the event source and configured partitions.
  • Search and filtering depend on indexed event data and available event state.
  • Expanded event details depend on available delivery, processing, and central station data.

Important limitations​

  • Delivery status indicates event delivery processing state. It does not necessarily describe the original event severity.
  • The Stream new events toggle can update the list while you are reviewing events.
  • Bulk actions apply to all selected event rows. Review the selected count before applying an action.

How to use this page​

Review events​

Goal:

  • Review event records and delivery status.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Review the event count.
  3. Review the Events table.
  4. Check the following columns:
    • Date & Time to see when the event occurred.
    • Panel to identify the source panel.
    • Event to understand what happened.
    • Partitions to see related partitions.
    • Video to check whether video information is available.
    • Delivery statuses to review delivery state.

Expected result:

  • You can identify event records and understand whether delivery is in progress or completed.

Stream new events​

Goal:

  • Monitor new events while the Events page is open.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Turn on Stream new events.
  3. Keep the Events page open.
  4. Review new events as the table updates.

Expected result:

  • New events can appear in the table while streaming is enabled.

If you are reviewing older events, turn off Stream new events if list updates interrupt the review workflow.

Show all events​

Goal:

  • Review all event records in the current scope.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Select All events.
  3. Review the table.

Expected result:

  • The All events tab is highlighted.
  • The table shows events according to the all-events view.

Prioritize unhandled events​

Goal:

  • Show unhandled events first.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Select Unhandled first.
  3. Review the events at the top of the table.

Expected result:

  • The Unhandled first tab is highlighted.
  • Events are ordered to prioritize unhandled records when the view is available.

Search events​

Goal:

  • Find event records by available event information.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Select the Search Events field.
  3. Enter the search text.
  4. Review the updated table results.

Expected result:

  • The Events table updates to show matching records when matching data is available.

Select events​

Goal:

  • Select event rows before applying a bulk action.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Select the checkbox for one or more event rows.
  3. Review the selected count.

Expected result:

  • Selected rows are highlighted.
  • The selected event count appears.
  • The Mark as viewed action appears when the action is available.

Mark selected events as viewed​

Goal:

  • Mark selected events as viewed.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Select one or more event rows.
  3. Confirm the selected event count.
  4. Select Mark as viewed.

Expected result:

  • Selected events are marked as viewed when the action is allowed.

The action applies to all selected event rows. Review the selected count before using Mark as viewed.

Open event details​

Goal:

  • Review additional details for an event.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Locate the event row.
  3. Select the eye icon at the end of the row.

Expected result:

  • Event details open when the action is available and permitted.

Expand an event row​

Goal:

  • Show additional row information when available.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Locate the event row.
  3. Select the down chevron at the end of the row.

Expected result:

  • The event row expands when additional information is available.
  • The chevron changes to an expanded state.

Review expanded event processing details​

Goal:

  • Review processing, delivery, and central station information for an event.

Steps:

  1. Open Events.
  2. Expand an event row.
  3. Review Event information.
  4. Review Active processing flow.
  5. Review Final results.
  6. Review Central stations.

Expected result:

  • Event metadata, processing counts, final result counts, and central station delivery rows are displayed when available.

Change the number of events shown per page​

Goal:

  • Change how many event records appear in the table.

Steps:

  1. Go to the bottom-right area of the Events table.
  2. Open the events per page selector.
  3. Select the number of events to show per page.

Expected result:

  • The table updates to show the selected number of events per page.
  • The range indicator updates.

Move between event pages​

Goal:

  • Navigate through multiple pages of event records.

Steps:

  1. Go to the bottom-left area of the Events table.
  2. Select the next arrow to move forward.
  3. Select the previous arrow to move back.
  4. Review the range indicator.

Expected result:

  • The Events table shows the selected page of events.
  • The range indicator updates.

Tips​

tip
  • Use Unhandled first when you need to focus on events that require attention.
  • Use Stream new events when monitoring live activity.
  • Review the Delivery statuses column before deciding whether an event is still being processed.
  • Use the Partitions column to understand which partitions are associated with an event.
  • Use the eye icon to open details when the action is available.
  • Expand a row to review delivery processing and central station results.

Troubleshooting​

The Events page is not visible​

Possible causes

  • Your role does not include permission to view Events.
  • The Events section is hidden for your role.
  • Your organization has restricted access to event data.

What to do

  1. Confirm that you are signed in with the correct user account.
  2. Contact an administrator with role management permissions.
  3. Ask the administrator to verify your access to Events.

No events are displayed​

Possible causes

  • No events are available in the current scope.
  • Search text or filters exclude all events.
  • Your role does not allow you to view available events.

What to do

  1. Clear search text.
  2. Review active filters.
  3. Select All events.
  4. Refresh the page.
  5. Contact an administrator if events should be visible but are missing.

New events do not appear while streaming is enabled​

Possible causes

  • No new events have arrived.
  • The stream connection is interrupted.
  • Your session expired or permissions changed.
  • The page is not connected to the event stream.

What to do

  1. Confirm that Stream new events is enabled.
  2. Refresh the Events page.
  3. Confirm that new events are being generated by equipment.
  4. Sign in again if the session expired.
  5. Contact support if streaming remains unavailable.

Mark as viewed is unavailable​

Possible causes

  • No event row is selected.
  • You do not have permission to mark events as viewed.
  • The selected event state does not support the action.

What to do

  1. Select one or more event rows.
  2. Confirm that the selected event count appears.
  3. Check whether Mark as viewed appears.
  4. Contact an administrator if the action should be available but is not shown.

Event details do not open​

Possible causes

  • The event detail action is unavailable for the row.
  • You do not have permission to view event details.
  • The event record is no longer available.

What to do

  1. Check whether the row shows the regular eye icon.
  2. Select the eye icon again.
  3. Refresh the page and try again.
  4. Contact an administrator if you need permission to view event details.

Expanded event details are empty or incomplete​

Possible causes

  • Detailed processing data is not available for the event.
  • Central station delivery data is not available.
  • The event row did not finish loading.
  • Your role does not allow access to detailed event data.

What to do

  1. Collapse and expand the row again.
  2. Refresh the Events page.
  3. Open another event row to compare available details.
  4. Contact an administrator if detailed information should be visible.

Delivery status remains In progress​

Possible causes

  • Event delivery is still running.
  • The delivery process is waiting for another system component.
  • The table has not refreshed with the latest delivery result.

What to do

  1. Wait for delivery processing to continue.
  2. Refresh the Events page.
  3. Review whether the status changes to Completed.
  4. Expand the row and review Active processing flow.
  5. Contact support if the status remains in progress longer than expected.

Expected event is not visible​

Possible causes

  • The event is on another page.
  • The event is hidden by search text or filters.
  • The event is outside the rotation period.
  • Your role does not allow access to the event.

What to do

  1. Clear search text.
  2. Select All events.
  3. Use pagination to review additional pages.
  4. Confirm the approximate event time.
  5. Contact an administrator if the event should be visible but is missing.
