ALARM INSTALL APP PRIVACY NOTICE​

The Alarm Install app (the "App") is provided to you by Johnson Controls ("Johnson", "us", or "we"). This Privacy Notice and Johnson Controls Privacy Notice applies to your use of the App and sets out the basis on which any personal information we collect from you via the App, or that you provide to us via the App, will be processed.

By downloading and installing the App onto your device and clicking on the ["Accept"] button below you are consenting to the processing of your personal information as explained in this Privacy Notice.

1. Personal information we may collect from you​

We may collect and process the following information about you:

• Information you submit or provide: We collect information that you submit or provide to us when (a) registering to use the App, (b) adding details to your account or profile, (c) using the App's features and functionality, (d) uploading or sharing any information through the App or (e) providing information to the installer. This information may include:
  • Users name or nick name
  • Home address details
  • Email address
  • panel PIN code of users
  • behavior of the panel (e.g. time of arm or disarm the security panel)
• Device information: We may collect information about the device you use to download the App, including, the device's unique device identifiers, operating system or connected devices.
• Location information: The App may use GPS to collect the location of your device, where this is directly relevant to the features provided by the App. If you use any location-enabled functionality you will be asked to consent to the collection of location data.
• Additional Information: If you contact us with a service issue we may keep a record of your report so that we can provide effective customer and service support.

2. Purposes of processing your personal information​

We process your personal information for the following purposes:

• In order to operate, maintain and provide you with the features and functionalities of the App.
• For system administration purposes.
• Provide security to the secured residence
• Detect troubles and alarms in the system

Where required by applicable law, we will only process personal information where we have a legal basis for doing so. In most cases this will be your consent or our (or a third party's) legitimate interests. Please see the Johnson Controls Privacy Notice for further details.

3. Sharing personal information with third parties​

Personal information collected via the App may be shared with other group companies, including our subsidiaries and our ultimate holding company. Where we share personal information with these entities, we will ensure that the recipients are under an obligation to provide the same or equal protection of your personal information as outlined in this Privacy Notice. The third parties and subsidiaries mentioned above may be located throughout the world and your information may be sent to countries which have different privacy protection standards. In such cases, we take measures to ensure that your personal information is appropriately protected. See the Johnson Controls Privacy Notice for details of the safeguards we have in place.

4. How long will we store your personal information?​

The personal information that you provide is retained for only as long as it is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected. After this period the personal information will be deleted or in some cases anonymised.

5. Your Rights and access to information​

Where we process your personal information on the basis of your consent, you can withdraw your consent by contacting our Privacy Office at privacy@jci.com. You can also delete personal information collected via the App by deleting the user account or contacting the installer (the person that installed the security panel) and requesting to delete the panel. 7. Interactive Functionality​

The Interactive Functionality allows for the processing of personal data by the App, consisting of still video verification images from the product(s) installed at your location in the case of an alarm event. You are the controller of the personal data processed by the Interactive Functionality of the product at your location, and as such, you are obligated to learn about the comply with all applicable local, state, provincial, national and international laws and regulations pertaining to personal data protection, privacy and security, including but not limited to (i) any laws relating to the recording or sharing of video or audio content that includes third parties and/or (ii) any laws requiring notice to or consent of third parties with regard to your use of security cameras and video in connection with the Interactive Functionality.
